What can I expect in a counselling session?

At Whispers of the Heart, sessions last 50 minutes and take place in a private and confidential setting and seek to explore any difficulties you may have and distress you may be experiencing or perhaps dissatisfaction with life or loss of sense of direction and purpose.

Your therapist will begin your session with clarifying what brings you to counselling. A  session would include exploring what are your concerns, what do you want to happen, exploring alternatives and ending with acting on new stories.

At Whispers of the Heart, a range of counselling techniques are practised such as Person-Centred Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Counselling can also be combined with other therapies such as Reiki, intuitive coaching and energy healing to explore what is happening at an energetic, vibrational level.
